Scarce, passage migrant & winter visitor. Occurs mainly between August & April, especially in September.

UK Breeding Status: Rare, 61 breeding pairs. Near-complete annual totals in Rare Breeding Bird Reports. Eaton et al. (2024).

UK 25y trend: Stable +16%. Eaton et al. (2024).
