Chew Valley Lake © Nigel Milbourne 2013

Very rare, passage migrant. May occur November to April.

  1. One, not aged, 1st-9th April 1946 (H.H. Davis, D.A. Weir et al.).
  2. One, adult, 5th Feb. to 20th March 1950 (P.J. Chadwick et al.).
  3. One, not aged, 4th March 1966 (W.L. Roseveare).
  4. One, not aged, 9th March 1975 (P.J. Chadwick).

It looks like the most likely time to find a Black-throated Diver at the lake is during spring migration. Another is long-overdue!
