Black-throated Diver Gavia arctica [Linnaeus, 1758]
Very rare, passage migrant. May occur November to April.
- One, not aged, 1st-9th April 1946 (H.H. Davis, D.A. Weir et al.).
- One, adult, 5th Feb. to 20th March 1950 (P.J. Chadwick et al.).
- One, not aged, 4th March 1966 (W.L. Roseveare).
- One, not aged, 9th March 1975 (P.J. Chadwick).
It looks like the most likely time to find a Black-throated Diver at the lake is during spring migration. Another is long-overdue!
