Mallard Anas platyrhynchos (Linnaeus, 1758)

Fairly common, resident, passage migrant & winter visitor. Breeds. Present all year.

A record dating circa 1930 was reported by Stanley Lewis as follows; “A resident of Blagdon reports seeing a duck, early one morning, taking her brood through the village to the reservoir.”
