  4. One, probable male, adult, 30th Nov. to 16th Dec. 2007 (R.G. Palmer, N.R. Milbourne et al.).
  5. Five, adult & 4 juveniles, 2nd Oct. 2013 (N.R. Milbourne).
  6. One, adult, 19th July 2014 (N.R. Milbourne).
  7. Two, adults, 5th Jan. to 20th Aug. 2015 (N.R. Milbourne, S.E. Caola). Failed breeders?
  8. One, adult, 12th April to 20th Aug. 2015 (N.R. Milbourne, S.E. Caola).
  9. One, not aged, 4th Nov. 2015 (N.R. Milbourne).
  10. Two, adults, 5th Nov. 2015 (N.R. Milbourne).

Records discontinued after those given above, as birds were present on and off for much of 2015 and 2016, with a peak count of five on 28th Jan. 2016 (N.R. Milbourne).


This species has been a regular visitor to the lake since 2015 with failed breeding attempts probably made in 2015 & 2016 when one of the pair went missing for extended periods during each spring and the visible bird staying faithful to the Top End during the day or flying in to roost there each evening. The water level was too high to make a nest search on each occasion.
